“Direct Hire” staffing, also known as “Permanent Placement”, is a recruitment process in which a firm works on behalf of a client company to find a suitable candidate for a permanent position. This results in the client paying the firm a “fee-per-placement”. This is a one time fee for the firm’s services.
“Contract-to-Hire” staffing, also known as “Temp-to-Perm,” is a hybrid employment arrangement where a candidate is initially hired on a temporary basis with the potential to become a permanent employee after a specific evaluation period. During the contract period, the client pays the firm an hourly fee for their employee’s services. Typically, an additional fee is paid to the firm when the firm’s temporary employee converts to the client’s full-time employee.
“Temporary Employment”, often referred to as “Temp Work,” involves hiring a firm to provide an individual for a specific, limited period or for a particular project. Unlike permanent or full-time positions, temporary jobs have a defined end date, and the employment relationship typically lasts from a few days to several months. In this scenario, the client only pays the firm an hourly fee for their employee’s services.
